The Key Purpose of this role is to be part of the Digital Supply Chain team and will be responsible for analysing and identifying Analytics solutions towards data-driven operations for business needs in the Logistics and Procurement functions across the Zone. The Junior Data Scientist will report to the Digital Supply Chain Product Owner in the Digital Supply Chain team and will be accountable for: Enabling self-service reporting, Partnering with Logistics & Procurement stakeholders and teams to understand their requirement, document them and explore data-driven approaches of discovering patterns, meaningful relationships, root-cause analyses, exceptions and rules to provide inputs to solution design. Additionally, Work with end-users to understand business KPIs to be delivered, Enable delivery on agreed business requirements and Transforming how we engage with our customers and building the best Analytics landscape in Africa.

Responsibilities

• Visualizing actionable insights out of large sets of diverse data using PowerBI Developing, testing and deploying ML/AI models models using cutting-edge Data Science Algorithms Evaluating model performance and monitor existing methodology and model accuracy Document model design that can be used to share with business and engineering for sign-off Analyzing the customer needs and finding the business solutions to address them using data analytics Creating the requirements in the form of user stories with appropriate acceptance criteria Groom the Product Backlog based on the prioritization provided by the Supply Chain Analytics Product Owner Explores data and discovers patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends to formulate business rules Identify soft & hard benefits of Analytics models, track and report on these to Zone & Global stakeholders Identify opportunities for new models that solve business problems Ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by working with the BrewDat team to ensure all relevant data is ingested and readily available for new model development Manage the reporting landscape to ensure reports are refreshed timeously, used as agreed with stakeholders and decommissioned when no longer needed Ensure compliance with globally aligned service policies, procedures, standards, tools and operating plans
• (As per agreed policies) As a squad member, responsible for collaboration and embracing the change of agile ways of work, ensuring team accountability and shared responsibility

Qualifications

• Relevant 3-year university degree in Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field Technical Skills: PowerBI, Python, Excel, SQL, General Data Knowledge (Data Modelling, Data administration, ETL Operations) ML concepts (like regression, classification, clustering, time series forecasting) and optimization techniques(Linear & Non Linear optimization) to solve end-to-end business problem Familiarity with Azure Tech Stack, Databricks, ML Flow in any cloud
